addiction?
Question by danielle_wears_prada: addiction?
I have been smoking weed for 5 years now, recently I have been re evaluating my situation and I feel now is the time to give up my vices. I have dealt with hell these past 5 years and I used weed as an outlet, it was always the thing that I could just do and any problem would melt away….for a while that is. I steadily smoked my way through high school and now most of college and I am ready to quit. But heres the problem, I have been a daily smoker for 5 years…quitting just like that is impossible believe me I have tried, every time I get a little weak or upset thats what I turn to. I would like to quit naturally and over a small amount of time without rehab, any suggestions? NOTE TO READERS: PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ANSWER HOW YOU CHOOSE BUT DONT JUDGE ME, I AM SIMPLY ASKING FOR HELP HERE IF YOU CANT PROVIDE THAT THEN DONT ANSWER, ALL RIDICULOUS RESPONSES WILL BE IGNORED. THANKS EVERYONE.

It’s pretty hard to quit without help. Getting support from others can help, if there’s anyone who knows you smoke weed you should enlist their support.

What’s the connection between drug use and HiV? Will addiction treatment lessen the spreading of HIV and AIDS?
Question by annaliese r: What’s the connection between drug use and HiV? Will addiction treatment lessen the spreading of HIV and AIDS?
I do know that they’re somehow interrelated. I was just curious as to how addiction treatment could possibly lessen the spreading of the aforementioned diseases.

Answer by alicia c
Drug addiction treatment would be able to reduce the spread of AIDS/HIV because drugs users are more likely to get affected by such diseases. Treating drug addicts will definitely help. Studies have shown that those who inject drugs who do not let themselves get subjected to treatment are six times more liekly to get infected with HIV or AIDS, as opposed to those who let themselves get treated.
Answer by John
Dirty syringe sharing with a person who has the disease equals the possibility of inheritance.

Drug Rehab information – please help?
Question by totalstressor: Drug Rehab information – please help?
A family member needs to go to a “live in” drug rehab, preferably in Florida. Due to these drugs, he lost his business, money, car, etc… The court said if he goes to rehab he won’t go to jail. The problem: My family cannot afford to send him to a private rehab. Any suggestions or resources that I might look at. This family member could even barter his fee. He is a licensed contractor in the state of Florida and has built and remodeled for some very wealthy and famous people.
My fear is if they let him out he will go right back to it. Thanks

Contact a few of the facilities and find out from them. Some facilities offer counseling for a reduced price if the patient is in desperate need.
If this person is in an inpatient program they are not allowed to do anything outside of the facility for many weeks.
Just check some out first hand they will be able to offer you more information.
Answer by accomacgeo
first he has to make his mind up how bad does he want a sober life he should so he can see his mistakes and want to turn his life into something productful

My parents will sign the consent forms and all that, but every time we call a professional place and ask if they pierce minors, they just say no. 🙁

So call the place and ask. Better than getting your hopes up only to find they won’t pierce you [when you’re already there].
