Her doctor could advise her about this problem.
You can tell her about alternatives. This is from the Mayo Clinic article on insomnia.
Stick to a sleep schedule. Keep your bedtime and wake time consistent from day to day, including on weekends.
Get out of bed when you’re not sleeping. Sleep as much as needed to feel rested, and then get out of bed. If you can’t sleep, get out of bed after 30 minutes and do something relaxing, such as reading.
Avoid trying to sleep. The harder you try, the more awake you’ll become. Read or watch television in another room until you become very drowsy, then go to bed to sleep.
Use your bed and bedroom only for sleeping or sex. Don’t read, watch TV, work or eat in bed.
Find ways to relax. A warm bath before bedtime can help prepare you for sleep. Having your partner give you a massage also may help relax you. Create a relaxing bedtime ritual, such as reading, soft music, breathing exercises, yoga or prayer.
Avoid or limit naps. Naps can make it harder to fall asleep at night. If you can’t get by without one, try to limit a nap to no more than 30 minutes and don’t nap after 3 p.m.
Make your bedroom comfortable for sleep. Close your bedroom door or create a subtle background noise, such as a running fan, to help drown out other noises. Keep your bedroom temperature comfortable, usually cooler than during the day, and dark. Don’t keep a computer or TV in your bedroom.
Exercise and stay active. Get at least 20 to 30 minutes of vigorous exercise daily at least five to six hours before bedtime.
Avoid or limit caffeine, alcohol and nicotine. Caffeine after lunchtime and using nicotine can keep you from falling asleep at night. Alcohol, while it may initially make you feel sleepy, can cause unrestful sleep and frequent awakenings.
Avoid large meals and beverages before bed. A light snack is fine, but eating too much late in the evening can interfere with sleep. Drink less before bedtime so that you won’t have to urinate as often.
Check your medications. If you take medications regularly, check with your doctor to see if they may be contributing to your insomnia. Also check the labels of over-the-counter products to see if they contain caffeine or other stimulants, such as pseudoephedrine.
Don’t put up with pain. If a painful condition bothers you, make sure the pain reliever you take is effective enough to control your pain while you’re sleeping.
Hide the bedroom clocks. Set your alarm so that you know when to get up, but then hide all clocks in your bedroom, including your wristwatch and cell phone. The less you know what time it is at night, the better you’ll sleep.

In which states would I qualify for medicinal marijuana? ?
Question by risks_(with a pessimist): In which states would I qualify for medicinal marijuana? ?
I live in Michigan and while at my latest appointment with my psychiatrist who helps me with me sever anxiety, we were discussing proposal one passing in Michigan to allow for some medicinal marijuana to be used. He mentioned that if the law covered more types of patients to be covered, I would be a perfect candidate because I should be on Kolonopin, but I have an adverse reaction to it (I can not even speak or stand up while on it I get so tired and dizzy) so I am on xanex instead, which is not really the right thing for me at all, and it makes me throw up. But, in michigan only those with chronic illnesses, chronic pain, or seizures get it. In which of the 13 states who have legalized medicinal marijuana would someone with extreme anxiety qualify? I know that california covers that, but where else?

Marijuana is a bad option for anxiety and will actually make anxiety worse. You will feel calm when you take it and for a little while afterwords but your anxiety will become more frequent and severe. Marijuana effects the GABA receptors and the brain which effect sleep and anxiety. It will cause you to have less of the GABA neurotransmitter. You should try some other options way before you try marijuana. There are antidepressants that can help like paxil, zoloft, luvox, and other meds like seroquel, risperdal. You should also consider therapy to help yourself learn effective ways to reduce anxiety besides drugs. I work in a rehab center and every person there to treat marijuana had anxiety and the marijuana only exacerbated it.

Does Obama’s admitted drug abuse make it harder for parents dealing with children who use?
Question by Probs 7: Does Obama’s admitted drug abuse make it harder for parents dealing with children who use?
If he is elected President, how will you explain to your children his drug abuse?
Best answer:
Answer by Glenna
I doubt children who use drugs are at all concerned with the presidential election nor things that he has or hasn’t done in his past. Even so, its not my responsibility to explain anyone’s actions but my own. My children know that they, and they alone, are responsible for their own actions. They know better than to play the blame game.

what is the cost of drug rehab?
Question by ajb1004672000: what is the cost of drug rehab?
Best answer:
Answer by baltimgirl
That actually depends on the type of rehab treatment you require. It can range any where from being Free to thousands of dollars. An example would be if you get involved with a drug program through the social services department and are unable to pay for treatment.. you may be eligible for free participation. However if it’s treatment somewhere like the Betty Ford clinic you can expect to pay a few thouusand more because it’s a facility that mostly caters to the “well to do” in society.

Where is Outpatient Drug Treatment for Teens in the North Austin, TX area that takes Medicaid?
Question by XZiLLr8: Where is Outpatient Drug Treatment for Teens in the North Austin, TX area that takes Medicaid?
I’d like to find a Teen Treatment Program that’s more than just 1 hour a week of counseling– I’m looking for a full program that includes 12 steps, educational sessions, group therapy, and individual counseling. I’m looking for a program that’s located in the North Austin area (or Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown area). I came across a treatment center called Sandstone Healthcare (that offered 6 week/10 hours a week treatment program AND accepted Medicaid), but it appears they are out of business.

Disclosure: They’re a former client of mine, but I’m not currently working with them.
