Heroin addiction and suboxone?
Question by Marisa L: Heroin addiction and suboxone?
My boyfriend has been addicted to heroin for several years. After relapsing again, he was prescribed suboxone. He’s been taking it for about a month or so but, his pupils still look dilated. I need to know if this is normal. What characteristics of heroin might also be attributed to suboxone? What are some signs that he may be using heroine again that maybe aren’t so noticeable (actions, paraphernalia)? If he is using again, I need to be able to find something definitive. He’s lied to me in the past and it’s hard for me to know if he’s lying and making excuses if I don’t have concrete evidence to confront him with.

Currently there are no states that holds prenatal substance abuse as a criminal act of child abuse and neglect. But many have expanded their civil child-welfare requirements to include substance abuse during pregnancy as grounds for terminating parental rights in relation to child abuse and neglect. The laws that adress prenatal substance abuse are as follows:
Iowa, Minnesota, and North Dakota’s health care providers are required to test for and report prenatal drug exposure. Kentucky health care providers are only required to test.
Alaska, Arizona, Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Oklahoma, Utah, Rhode Island and Virginia’s, health care providers are required to report prenatal drug exposure. Reporting and testing can be evidence used in child welfare proceedings.
Some states consider prenatal substance abuse as part of their child welfare laws. Therefore prenatal drug exposure can provide grounds for terminating parental rights because of child abuse or neglect. These states include: Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Some states have policies that enforce admission to an inpatient treatment program for pregnant women who use drugs. These states include: Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
In 2004, Texas made it a felony to smoke marijuana while pregnant, resulting in a prison sentence of 2-20 years.

What is the sanest… city in the U.S. …state in the U.S. …city in the world …country in the world?
Question by DIYguy: What is the sanest… city in the U.S. …state in the U.S. …city in the world …country in the world?
Or are they just all about the same, when it comes to sanity?
Here are some examples of what I mean by “sanity”, in the context of the question:
1) Less prone to sacrifice sleep and personal creativity (among other things), for love of money and love of other forms of stimulation.
2) Less prone to the worst of the debilitating addictions [see note at end].
3) More likely to develop belief systems and world views from personal observation and personal experience — and less likely to accept-without-question the carefully-crafted “News” delivered by large corporations, or the manipulative “Guidance” dictated/imposed by religious “Authorities”.
4) More likely to trust (as opposed to fear) your neighbors.
5) More likely to speak out quickly and loudly against injustice — but less likely to resort to personal insults — and slow to resort to force and violence to solve problems.
6) A relative love of DIVERSITY of races, cultures, religions, attitudes, etc — and a relative dislike of UNIFORMITY.
————————————————————–
[Note: IMHO, the most debilitating addictions come in two flavors —
a) The addiction of the Left: Always expecting someone else (or something else) to solve all your problems when you could/should be solving them, and
b) The addiction of the Right: Always denying your responsibility to assist others in genuine need, to respect the Earth/Nature/All-Living-Things, and to assist the 7th generation.]
