I have a Rehab Question?
Question by Nicole: I have a Rehab Question?
I am a 24 year old woman who has battled with drug and alcohol addiction for about 7 years. I have gotten in some trouble with the law (DUI and possension of various drugs) over the last year. I have finally agreed to go into a rehabilitation center ( I live outside of Chicago) and I am having trouble finding places that best suite me. I have tried out patient therapy and counseling over the years but they don’t really seem to help me. My family wants to get me into a sober living facility but I am not exactly sure what I am looking for. Is there any website or phone number I can call to help better figure out what would work best for me. Any suggestions will help. Thank you

I live outside of Chicago also and found that their rehab centers are not really up to standard . Everywhere I came to contact with was mostly mental health places first that had substance abuse programs but not the other way around . I ended up going to a wonderful place Brighton Hospital in Michigan . It’s about a 5 hour drive but it was worth it . You get away from everything for a bit and just work on yourself . My brother ended up going also and it saved his life .Sober living should really come after inpatient care . Good luck 🙂

Why don’t you make an appointment with your family doctor and go in and ask him/her for some recommendations of facilities in Your area. You can discuss any particular concerns about certain aspects of the Program you need with your doctor and hopeful he/she will be able to help you narrow down y9our options. That is what my loved on did and he has been clean and sober for 4 1/2 yrs. Gook luck.

Don’t worry, you can easily find drug rehabilitation centers in Los Angeles. Aside from rehab centers, you can also find clinics and medical centers. Go to any counseling services in your area so that you will be informed about the treatments available. Good luck! And I hope your family supports your father so that he can recover fast.

What procedures does one have to go through to leave drug rehab?
Question by wrongnumber: What procedures does one have to go through to leave drug rehab?
Like, what standard tests, etc. does someone have to go through before they leave?
Best answer:
Answer by Rachel
If you are in a residential addiction treatment program you will have a discharge planner assigned to you before you leave treatment. A discharge planner will review a relapse prevention plan such as meeting schedule, psychiatrist appointments if needed, half way housing or sober living, and outpatient programs to continue step down treatment. If there is no discharge planner in the facility you have chosen to go to then your primary therapist should also do the discharge planner position.
As far as I know there aren’t any tests that you have to take to leave voluntary treatment. If you have a probation officer he or she may require a drug test upon your next visit with them. If you start outpatient from residential treatment then the program may drug test you before starting to ensure that you did not relapse.
Hope this is helpful.

Who shall I vote for in the US Presidential Election when I’ve seen at least one fatal flaw in every party?
Question by D Tommy Boy: Who shall I vote for in the US Presidential Election when I’ve seen at least one fatal flaw in every party?
Like the more to the left you are, the more you want Government to intervene in terms of including everybody in the country. Think Affirmative Action.
And the more to the right you are, the more you want Government to intervene in terms of including only AMERICANS into the country.
The only logical thing should be center, center left, or center right, but guess what? NO ONE’S IN CHARGE.
All of these are dangerous as far as I’m concerned, but you don’t run as an independent because there is no platform and there will most likely not be a matching party.
I myself love different cultures yet I don’t want them controlling my life as an “American.” It’s a paradox with me. I’m in a paradoxical black hole.
SO WHO IN THIS WHOLE ENTIRE PLANET SHALL I VOTE FOR? PLEASE HELP ME!

You shouldn’t BE voting.
Answer by Desire
Why you should vote for Mitt:
1. Drop-dead, collar-ad handsome with gracious, statesmanlike aura. Looks like every central casting’s #1 choice for Commander-in-Chief.
2. Been married to ONE woman his entire life, and has been faithful to her, including through her bouts with breast cancer and MS.
3. No scandals or skeletons in his closet. (How boring is that?)
4. Can’t speak in a fake, southern, “black preacher voice” when necessary.
5. Highly intelligent. Graduated kum laude (Yahoo won let me put the word correct word in there; they think it’s the sexual reference.) from both Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School …and by the way, his academic records are NOT sealed.
6. Doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol, and has never done drugs, not even in the counter-culture age when he went to college. Too square for today’s America ?
7. Represents an America of “yesterday”, where people believed in God, went to Church, didn’t screw around, worked hard, and became a SUCCESS!
8. Has a family of five great sons….and none of them have police records or are in drug rehab. But of course, they were raised by a stay-at-home mom, and that “choice” deserves America ‘s scorn.
9. Oh yes…..he’s a MORMON. We need to be very afraid of that very strange religion that teaches its members to be clean-living, patriotic, fiscally conservative, charitable, self-reliant, and honest.
10. And one more point…..pundits say because of his wealth, he can’t relate to ordinary Americans. I guess that’s because he made that money HIMSELF…..as opposed to marrying it or inheriting it from Dad. Apparently, he didn’t understand that actually working at a job and earning your own money made you unrelatable to Americans.

Mormon – The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints
Working Background:
After high school, he spent 30 months in France as a
Mormon missionary.
After going to both Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School simultaneously, he passed the Michigan bar exam, but never worked as an attorney.
In 1984, he co-founded Bain Capital a private equity investment firm, one of the largest such firms in the United States. In 1994, he ran for Senator of Massachusetts and lost to Ted Kennedy.
He was President and CEO of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.
In 2002, he was elected Governor of the State of Massachusetts where he eliminated a 1.5 billion deficit.
In 2011 Mitt Romney gave over $ 4 million to charity, almost 19% of his income…. Just for comparison purposes, Obama gave 1% and Joe Biden gave $ 300 or .0013%.
Mitt Romney is Trustworthy:
He will show us his birth certificate
He will show us his high school and college transcripts.
He will show us his social security card.
He will show us his law degree.
He will show us his draft notice.
He will show us his medical records.
He will show us his income tax records.
He will show us he has nothing to hide.
Mitt Romney’s background, experience and trustworthiness show him to be a great leader and an excellent citizen for President of the United States.
You may think that Romney may not be the best representative the Republicans could have selected. At least I know what religion he is, and that he won’t desecrate the flag, bow down to foreign powers, or practice fiscal irresponsibility. I know he has the ability to turn this financial debacle that the current regime has gotten us into. We won’t like all the things necessary to recover from this debt, but someone with Romney’s background can do it. But, on the minus side, he never was a “Community Organizer”, never took drugs or smoked pot, never got drunk, did not associate with communists or terrorists, nor did he attend a church whose pastor called for God to damn the US.
