High schools, places to live, places to be in Portland Oregon?

Question by Morgen Moung: High schools, places to live, places to be in Portland Oregon?
I’m moving from Alaska to Portland and it will be my senior year. I like my weed and I like my social life. I’m not into super weird people but I like people with personality. Where is the best place to go to high school for a chill atmosphere and attractive people, where’s the best place to live or at least a break down of what parts of the city are what. I’m an only child and I’m not trying to spend my senior year at home alone!(:

thats kind of tricky because a lot of addicts don’t think they are addicts because they have prescriptions, don’t know they have a problem, or just aren’t ready to admit they have a problem.

Answer by PokerChic
Search in this section for gambling addict or gambling addiction. There are probably hundreds of questions about this. You will get a wealth of anecdotal stuff to work with.

Possible intro: “Gambling can be very dangerous for some people.” This paper could be short and stupid (D), or very long and interesting (A). Once you have looked at some or many of the posts and answers, you will be able to come up with what part of this problem you want to write about.

If you want to impress your teacher or professor, include statistics. Google gambling and bankruptcy.

Is the JUVENILE EDUVENTION PROGRAM considered formal substance/drug abuse COUNSELING or TREATMENT?

Question by Mitch: Is the JUVENILE EDUVENTION PROGRAM considered formal substance/drug abuse COUNSELING or TREATMENT?
here’s the situation. my friend is confused about if the EDUVENTION Program for juveniles is considered drug counseling and/or treatment. When he was 13 years old, he got in trouble with the police for vandalism. his parents suspected he was using drugs and the court gave hima drug test. he popped positive for marujuana. he was NEVER charged with any type of drug chage, he was just orderd to attend an educational class about weed with his parents, it was kind of like DARE. The class was called EDUVENTION-substance abuse educational program. It was only 4 days long, once a week for 4 weeks, he was required to attend this with his parents. So my main question…

1.) Is this EDUVENTION program considered drug COUNSELING and/or TREATMENT?

2.) will this come up on a criminal background check, even though he was NEVER given a drug charge. He was only charged with a misdemeanor vandalism and required to attend this EDUVENTION-educational program with his parents. HE completed everything and is just confused about the whole thing. He doesnt believe it was counseling or treatment because it was just an Educational Program for first time pot smokers, similar to the DARE program.

Please, SERIOUS answers only.

Thanks

You, I mean your “friend”, doesn’t have to worry. Juvenile records are sealed. Nobody is going to find out what happened when you, whoops, “he” was 13.
