Side effects of the H1N1 vaccine / vaccination?
Question by ZZZ: Side effects of the H1N1 vaccine / vaccination?
I was thinking of getting my 5 year old daughter the H1N1 vaccination (the next time there is one) and I had saw a video on youtube about a woman who developed a rare neurological syndrome after getting a flu shot (not the H1N1, just a regular flu shot). 10 days after she got it, she went into convulsions and now can only walk backwards normally. She can’t walk forward and her speech isn’t normal. Oddly, she can run or jog forward and speak normally when she runs.
This worries me, if there is even the slightest possibility that this COULD happen to my child, I don’t want to risk it. Even if it’s .00000001 %

H1N1 vaccine side effects reported
Seven of the 22,000 medical workers vaccinated against H1N1 swine flu have developed side effects, the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry said.
The finding, released Friday, was revealed after a four-day survey was completed Thursday to ensure the new vaccine was working on doctors and nurses at 67 designated hospitals run by the National Hospital Organization.
Four of the seven developed serious side effects, including vomiting and diminished consciousness, but all are recovering, the ministry said. The other three complained of minor symptoms, such as developing hives.

Decided NOT to get the H1N1 vaccination for my daughter or myself. There has only been a handful of the H1N1 flu virus here in our area. I’m not going to subject my daughter to a new vaccine that has no detailed and long term data research information to back it. With the “flu shot” at least I know it has been around for decades and I know the statistics each year. With the H1N1, I do not. It would be like someone telling me, “Hey take this pill and you won’t grow old.” Why? “Because its FDA approved and millions of other are taking it.” No ways…. Not taking a chance.
